Clearly I'm not good at blogging daily!!

So here are my updates from the two days I've missed:

Day 15: A fanfic - this is dumb...
I don't know what it is, my friend wikipedia'd it and I still don't get it, so I'm not doing this...

Instead, here's a fun picture:  My dad helping Maddie ring the Camp Dennen bell (which is in their back yard now!)

Day 16: A song that makes you cry (or nearly) -
There are a couple of songs that make me cry... if I'm alone, most songs do!  Who You'd Be Today by Kenny Chesney.

Here are the lyrics in case you're not familiar:
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
Wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
I see your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain
Still can't believe you're gone

Chorus:

It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
The death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I've been through
Just knowing no one could take your *place*(instead of 'love away')
Sometimes I wonder who you'd be today

Would you see the world?
Would you chase your dreams?
Settle down with a family?
I wonder, what would you name your babies?
Some days the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy

Chorus

Today, Today, Today
Today, Today, Today

Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know I'll see you again someday

Someday, Someday

Not so much for me but for anyone who has lost a child and especially for my sister who lost her son way too early.
For anyone that lost a friend too young or anyone that died too young really, I don't know how you could hear that song and not cry!

up to Day 14....

again, I have to add a few days at once.  This time, though it is because I was at a conference from Wednesday to Saturday.  (p.s. my "s" key is not typing unless I slam it down, so if I miss a few "s's" in there, that's why)...

Day 9: A photo you took - Ryan and Maddie on the train the other day

Day 10: A photo of you taken over ten years ago - This might have just been about 10 years ago, me with my friend Lisa.

Day 11: A photo of you taken recently - this was this weekend at the Professional Housing Conference I was at with my friend Erin.

Day 12: Whatever tickles your fancy - My sister and me this Easter.  She's the most amazing woman I know.  She's been through more in her life than any woman should have to go through and although most days he doesn't think she is, she's so strong!  (this was our attempt at a silly picture, we're a little lame!)

Day 13: A fictional book - I resisted this series like I did the Harry Potter books (never read those)... until a friend just begged me to try them.  I'm going into the 4th book tonight and not really because I love them (because I don't love them) but because I started, so I must finish!!

Day 14: A non-fictional book - The Secret... interesting to say the least...

a few more days

30 Days of ME

I had to do a few days at once, because I keep forgetting to update this...

Day 6: Whatever tickles your fancy -  This one is funny... tickles my fancy?  I guess that means whatever makes you happy... Today made me happy.  Ryan had a Personal Day to use, so I took the day too.  We took Maddie on the train to Boston and had a great day together.  She is well on her way to being potty trained and that makes me very happy!!

Day 7: A photo that makes you happy

This was today.  We went to this giant Ice Cream event, where you paid $7 to get in and it was all you can eat ice cream from Baskin Robins, Ben and Jerrys, Hood, and a ton of other places.  All the proceeds went to the Jimmy Fund for families affected by cancer.

Day 8: A photo that makes you angry/sad

All but one person in this makes me happy.  The fact that 10 year were wasted hoping that he would change and now he is being more of an ass than ever just makes me angry and sad all at the same time.  I love everyone in this family, but I only like 8 out of the 9.

catching up to do

I forgot to blog for the past three days, so I have some catching up to do:

Here are my favorites for the missed days and for today:

30 Days of ME

Day 1: Your favorite song

Day 2: Your favorite movie - There are a few!! Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman are the two movies that I can (and have) watch over and over without ever getting tired of the movie!  I love Julia Roberts, so really I will watch any movie she is in.  Stepmom is one I will stop everything for when it is on tv!!

Day 3: Your favorite television program - I love Biggest Loser.  I get hooked weekly!!  There are a few also that I Tivo and make sure to catch up with when I have time.  Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, and Brothers and Sisters.
However, I will drop all of those for a rerun of The Golden Girls!

Day 4: Your favorite book - I just re-read Anthony Rapp's book (isn't that sad, I can't remember the name!) but he wrote it after starring in Rent.  It's the only book I've ever read twice.  I also absolutely love Summer Sisters by Judy Blume.  I need some suggestions in this area though, because I'll read pretty much anything and I really need some better reading.  I'm on the third book in the Twilight series, and not because I love it, but because I need to finish it.

Day 5: Your favorite quote - If God brings you TO it; He'll get you THROUGH it.  I believe this is the truth.  I live by this quote!

So, my favorite song:
My all time favorite:  It's Your Love by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill -- it was Ryan and My wedding song and I just love it!!  I still get chills when I hear it, we still dance in the kitchen to it sometimes!
I'll post the lyrics because I'm sure not all of you are Country fans:

Dancin' in the dark; middle of the night
Takin' your heart and holdin' it tight
Emotional touch, touchin' my skin
And asking you to do what you've been doin' all over again

Oh it's a beautiful thing don't think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know what it is that won't let me go

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under
Oh it's your love

Better than I was, more than I am
And all of this happened by taking your hand
And who I am now is who I wanted to be
And now that we're together,
I'm stronger than ever
I'm happy and free

Oh it's a beautiful thing,
Don't think I can keep it all in
If you asked me why I've changed,
All I gotta do is say your sweet name

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under
Oh, it's your love

Baby, Oh oh, oh,

Oh it's a beautiful thing,
Don't think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know what it is that won't let me go

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under,
Oh it's your love
It's your love, it's your love, it's your love

OH WHAT A WEEK!

And it's only Thursday!

I'll start off by saying that Ryan is nearly perfect.  Seriously, he's pretty much a perfect husband (even puts the seat down and wipes it off), cooks dinner more than I do, does an "ok" job at cleaning up after himself (but I don't mind that part, I love to clean!)   He's a perfect dad and one of the best friends his friends will ever have.

His only imperfection:  his knees!

He was cursed with a family history of bad knees.  Since he was in middle school, his knees have been terrible and popped out of place in the most random times... he'd be walking down stairs, or rollerblading or something silly and his knee cap would slip out of place and slide around the back of his leg!  It's terrible and unbelievably painful.

This happened twice two years ago within three months but hasn't happened since... until Tuesday!

I got a call on my cell phone from his Principal (he's a 1st grade teacher) saying that he twisted his knee and he looked very pale.  So I hopped in my car and went to pick him up.  On the way to pick him up, his principal called me back and told me that they were taking him to the local ER.

I walked in to the ER and there he sat, in the wheel chair, looking so defeated!  Poor thing.  I hate seeing him in pain (more on this in a minute).

They took Xrays and sent us home.  We were told to schedule an appointment with OHS (because it happened at work and in order for Workmen's Comp to cover it, the OHS doctors needed to clear him to work).  So, he made an appointment for Wednesday at 9:30am.    I took him home and then I went back to work.

Cut to Wednesday morning, I took the morning off to take him to his appointment.  We got there at 9:29am, you know, because I can never be early!!  We waited until about 9:50am before we were even seen!  We went into the room with the doctor and she was so rough with him.  She firstly, didn't even understand what happened to him... then made him bend his knee all the way up (WHICH HE CAN'T DO!!) and he was wincing in pain and clutching the side of the table... I started to feel really nauseaus watching him be in pain and was willing myself to think of other things and not picture his pain or pay attention to how much this looked like it was killing him... and then she was just pushing him so much "ok, now straighten your leg, straighten it, no straighten it... all the way" and his knuckles turned white gripping the table....
I started sweating perfusely... And getting very dizzy... I put my head between my legs and was talking in my head to myself... Relax, he's fine, he's fine....
Then Ryan asked, "Hunny, are you ok?"
I heard myself say, "No, I'm going to pass out"

"AMANDA, AMANDA, AMANDA, AMANDA"...

I heard someone calling my name from a distance... I was dreaming... and in the best sleep I can remember....

"AMANDA, AMANDA, AMANDA...."

I kept trying to answer.... Trying to say, "What?" but nothing would come out... I couldn't open my eyes... and then I realized that I was asleep... no, I was passed out... My ears were ringing so loudly....  and I heard Ryan's voice, "Amanda... hunny...."

I finally could open my eyes... OH NO!  I had passed out at Ryan's doctor's appointment.

Last thing I remembered I was head down in the chair by the examination table....

Now, I was laying on that table and someone was holding my legs up in the air.  (Wrong day to wear a dress!!)

I was so dizzy and my arms were tingly like crazy....

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to pass out..."

The doctor was not impressed, not sympathetic, and not amusing when she told me I was a lot heavier than I looked!!  She seriously said that... "Good thing Ryan can put weight on his leg because the two of us (the nurse and herself) couldn't lift you alone... You're a LOT heavier than you look."  To which my perfect (knees excluded) husband responded, "Yeah, she's solid muscle".  (thank you hunny!)

Well... after a little over an hour and them trying to convince me to go to the ER by Ambulance, we basically snuck out of there and came home!  I was out of it most of the day, really weak, dizzy, and felt nauseous until about 9pm.

They kept asking me what happened and why I passed out.  I couldn't convince them that it wasn't a medical problem at all, it SERIOUSLY was just that my husband was experiencing pain and I can NOT stand to see him in pain... that's it.  That's all...

The funny thing is that when I was trying to wake up, the nurse said, "what the heck happened?"  And Ryan's response was, "She does this..."  Seriously?  I do this?  No I don't!!
Ok, so I get a little queezy at needles and in hospitals, but I don't pass out at the doctor...

I did do the same thing once when my dad went in for surgery once... Passed out when he told the nurse his IV hurt... Out cold.  On the floor...

So, maybe I do!

I'm back at work today, feeling better than ever!  Went for a 3 mile run at 6am this morning...
hopefully Ryan isn't in too much pain again and I'll stay on my feet!!!
